What is Pizza & Prayer?
Essentially, P&P is a gathering of the Youth of our Parish (9-12th Grade) where the teens can come to St. Joseph, participate in a planned activity, reflect on issues of the day, relate what is happening with their lives and Faith and generally check in with each other. It is a Group of Teens from Silver Lake, Notre Dame, Home Schooled, BC High, Xaverian, Sacred Heart, other High Schools from region...to the teens it really doesn’t matter…it is a group of teens who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation (or preparing to receive) and taking their next growth steps in their Faith…but importantly it is a group without labels, it’s just teenagers. The teens have fun, eat pizza and learn about their Faith in God from each other. Activity and open discussion runs about 40 minutes and concludes with pizza. Once a month there is a movie which might run a bit longer.
Pizza & Prayer Needs Adult Assistance.
Here is how simple it is to get started at Pizza & Prayer. P&P Adult assistance always works in teams of two. (One or both of the adults kicks the meeting off and gets the activity or discussion started. Once underway one of the adult leaders calls in “The Pizza Order” and drives in to town to pick it up.-That’s it! How often? Maybe once every six weeks. Is your phone ringing? Is God Calling? Maybe he wants you to eat Pizza-This is an easy call to answer and the benefits are immeasurable. To get involved please contact me, I’d love to tell you more and then you decide.
Thank you - Peace
